Eradicate Barriers, Sensitize Minds

Women Empowerment Cell in Government Degree College, Tadipatri strives to maintain and augment the gender-neutral atmosphere of college. The Cell encourages the women students to come forward to talk about women related issues and tries to sensitize the youth about gender reality as the goal to emancipate and empower women. Focus of the Cell is to eliminate the discrimination and all forms of violence against women and girl child in Indian Society. With a view of taking up women’s issues and problems, the Cell aims at creating awareness of their rights and duties. It also provides platform for women to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society and to suggest ways to improve and empower themselves.

Aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women’s empowerment through

  • Guest lectures
  • Observing days of importance related to women
  • Health and hygiene programmes
  • Sensitize the student community regarding the issues of eve-teasing, violence against women, female feticide etc.
  • Organizing group discussions, lectures and interactive sessions with experts in the relevant fields to motivate and create awareness among women students
  • Women Empowerment Cell seeks to empower women as decision makers and to achieve economic, social and gender justice.
  • Provide trainings for job oriented courses
  • On International Women’s Day, Women Teachers’ day and women equality day, every year the cell invites and felicitates eminent women from different walks of life to motivate and inspire the girl students.
  • It also looks after the wellbeing of the girl students by providing all the amenities they require to continue their education in an amicable, inspiring atmosphere so as to become bold and healthy future citizens.
